ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) — Texas Rangers outfielders Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz both hit home runs in the next-to-last games of their minor league rehab assignments Saturday night.

Hamilton, recovering from a broken bone in his upper right arm, hit a three-run homer and Cruz added a solo shot to lead Triple-A Round Rock to a 9-4 win over Colorado Springs.

Hamilton, last year’s American League MVP, had his second extra-base hit in two nights, giving him two hits in seven at-bats for the Express. Cruz, rehabbing a strained right quadriceps muscle, had three hits Friday night and is 4 for 8 with two homers and four RBIs for Round Rock.

Hamilton and Cruz are expected to play in the series finale Sunday and then likely get activated off the disabled list by the Rangers.
