Letter: Another approach to sales-tax issue
Saturday, May 21, 2011
To keep Southwest Washington business thriving, I propose the Legislature exempt residents living in the area from all sales taxes. This would stop the billions of dollars spent by Washingtonians going to Oregon, where there is no sales tax. It won’t help with our budget issues, but is that more important than keeping the lobbyist happy? At least Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver, is on the right side of this issue.
