Letter: Can’t get a break from the right

The panic you hear on the right is their constant effort to paint President Barack Obama as a weak protector of American national security, but ever since he stunned the world with the announcement of Osama bin Laden’s death by American Navy SEAL special forces, the tone of panic has increased.

Now that the world’s most wanted terrorist has been eliminated by careful planning by Obama’s strategists, critics from the far right have been ranting and raving that former President Bush deserves more of the credit than President Obama does.

Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh started bashing the president, saying in essence that it was the Bush administration that really set up the whole thing and that the Obama administration just followed through.

Anybody who can do research for themselves will find out that it took months during this administration to plan this raid.

Now that President Obama has accomplished a feat that eluded Bush for nearly eight years without succumbing to chest thumping and chauvinism, we can expect a lot more of this tired and racist drivel from Palin, Limbaugh and the right.

Every time Obama accomplishes something significant, the right-wing swill will get deeper and deeper. Thank God that the president is above this kind of fray.
