SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Alpine College closed its doors suddenly at its Spokane Valley location, leaving many students wondering what to do now.

Students came to the for-profit school on Monday morning and found a piece of paper on the front door notifying them the school had closed.

Students like Jennifer Keon and Cari Whitney were just weeks away from graduating. Both said they had taken out about $12,000 in student loans.

Former Director of Admissions Stacey Bruegeman told KREM-TV of Spokane that the faculty had no warning of the closure. She said the school could no longer afford to stay open.
