SEATTLE (AP) — Construction is to start next month on a $10 million pedestrian-bicycle bridge that will help connect the Seattle Center with the waterfront.

The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports the bridge will eventually be part of a bicycle route from South Lake Union called the Lake to Bay Loop.

The Seattle Transportation Department says the bridge will go over railroad tracks and Elliott Avenue between West Thomas Street and Myrtle Edwards Park.

Work should be completed next spring.
