IRVING, Texas (AP) — K.J. Choi is congratulating David Toms for his quick comeback from losing their playoff at The Players Championship to winning at Colonial.

Choi became the Players’ champion when Toms missed a short par putt on the extra hole at TPC Sawgrass. Choi didn’t play at Hogan’s Alley last week, but Toms opened with consecutive rounds of 62s and then came back for his first win in more than five years after blowing a seven-stroke lead in the third round.

After a practice round for the Byron Nelson Championship on Tuesday, Choi says he’s “not surprised at all that” Toms won at Colonial and doesn’t think he won by chance.

Choi returned Monday from Korea, after announcing plans there for the K.J. Choi Invitational tournament in October.
