Woman’s body found in Ore.’s Willamette River



COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) — Police in Cottage Grove, Ore., say three children spotted a woman’s body in the Willamette River.

Police Chief Mike Grover says they reported their discovery Wednesday afternoon to officials at nearby Lincoln Middle School.

The police chief tells the Register-Guard the body did not have any visible signs of injury. An autopsy is planned.

Grover says the woman was about 38 years old and was known to police. Her name was not immediately released.
