MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) — The Clackamas County sheriff’s office says negotiators were able to talk a suicidal man into putting down his shotgun and surrendering early Friday at a home near Milwaukie.
The man had fired two shots from a pistol into the ceiling. His wife was able to take that gun away from him and leave the house.
The sheriff’s office says the man found a shotgun and walked around the house drinking beer before the negotiators talked him out with no one getting hurt. He was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
