Firefighters go to Moses Lake for airport training

MOSES LAKE, Wash. (AP) -- Firefighters from across Washington head to Moses Lake for training offered by Big Bend Community College -- the Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting School at the Grant County airport.

The Columbia Basin Herald reports classes are held in the spring and fall. Firefighters take the refresher courses to maintain FAA certification.

They put out real fires in scenarios about airplane crashes, wheel and engine fires.
