Letter: Oppose reducing sentences

I have accompanied state corrections Officer Tony Shaver on one of his many trips to Olympia to speak personally with our representatives about House Bill 2066 and Senate Bill 5891. Even though state legislators are aware of the consequences to our communities, they seem intent to sneak these bills past the voters.

My message to all sex offenders who are about to be released from prison: Feel free to contact your legislators to thank them personally for allowing you to be released to the community without supervision. You might also want to seek housing in their neighborhoods where you can continue this budding friendship and where they can keep an eye on you.
