Toddler recovered from WA Greenwater River

GREENWATER, Wash. (AP) -- A Pierce County, Wash., sheriff's spokesman says a 2-year-old boy swept away in the fast-moving Greenwater River has been recovered. Spokesman Ed Troyer tells KIRO-TV that medical personnel are evaluating the boy's condition at the scene.

Troyer says the child was on a camping trip with his family on Friday afternoon when he was washed downstream.

The spokesman cautions those planning to spend the Memorial Day holiday in the outdoors to stay away from area rivers, which are all running fast and full.
