Letter: Capture some missed revenue

The Columbian
Published: May 27, 2011, 5:00pm

Recently I have read several letters to the editor in The Columbian stating that they believe that people who show Oregon identification in order to avoid paying Washington sales tax are really Washington residents. The state of Washington is losing both sales tax and license fee revenue from these cheaters. I urge Clark County residents to contact their elected state legislators, and ask them to repeal these sales tax exemptions.

Also, for additional revenue (and safety), I believe that state auto inspections should be required every two years, and bicycles should be licensed. What do you think?
