ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Mike Napoli slid under the catcher's tag on Elvis Andrus' two-out single in the ninth inning, giving the Texas Rangers a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.

Nelson Cruz led off the ninth with a tying home run off closer Joakim Soria (3-2), who had his fourth blown save in 11 chances.

Napoli followed with a single and two outs later, he raced home from first on Andrus' single to right. First baseman Eric Hosmer's relay throw to the plate was in plenty of time, but it was high and Napoli slid under Brayan Pena's tag. Pena slammed the ball down after Napoli was called safe.

Alcides Escobar had given the Royals a 6-5 lead with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
