Girardi hopes fans running on field get punished

SEATTLE (AP) -- New York manager Joe Girardi says he hopes the four fans that ran on the field and disrupted Saturday night's game between the Yankees and Seattle Mariners get a punishment that will deter it from happening in the future.
Girardi said Sunday that he didn't like the disruption of the action that took place.
All four fans, including one streaker who jumped onto the field by running off the top of the Mariners' dugout, were eventually tackled and removed by security.
"The penalties have to be severe. It just shouldn't happen," Girardi said.
All four were hauled across the field by police and taken out an outfield gate. Girardi suggested having a cart brought out to quickly remove the offenders and cause less delay.
