9-year-old hit by stolen car in Seattle

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle Police are seeking information about a hit-and-run driver whose stolen car jumped a curb and hit a 9-year-old girl.

The girl is being treated at Harborview Medical Center after the later Monday afternoon accident. The Seattle Fire Department told The Seattle Times her condition is serious but not life threatening.

The accident happened near downtown Seattle on Denny Way. The car struck a tree in Denny Park before hitting the girl.

Police have recovered the stolen vehicle where it was abandoned a few blocks away.
