SEATTLE (AP) -- Mariners third baseman Chone Figgins will sit for the next few days as he continues to struggle at the plate.

Seattle manager Eric Wedge said Figgins would get the time off Tuesday before the second game of a three-game series against Baltimore. Figgins is in an 0-for-22 slump and was dropped from second to eighth in the batting order Monday.

Figgins also committed sixth error of the season in Seattle's 4-3 win over the Orioles on Monday. He is hitting just .190 overall. Luis Rodriguez started at third and hit eighth.

Figgins is in the second year of a $36 million, four-year deal he signed in December 2009.
