Alpha Iron, a structural steel fabricator located in Vancouver’s Columbia Business Center, has been acquired by Portland-based Alliance Industrial Group, according to AIG president Jim Buchan. The acquisition increases Alpha Iron’s capacity through the influx of capital for expansion, AIG said in a news release. It also provides additional in-house fabricating that makes it one of the largest fabricators in the Northwest.

Alpha Iron works on complex projects with very tight tolerances. Recent projects include the Portland International Airport garage, the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building in Portland, and the University of Oregon Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore.
