LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The IOC is giving prospective Olympic host cities tips on how to run a winning bid campaign.

Officials from more than 20 countries, including delegates from four potential U.S. bidders, began a two-day seminar Tuesday with the IOC and leaders of organizing committees from London, Sochi and Rio de Janeiro.

International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge says the importance of learning to manage a bid “cannot be understated.”

Among those attending the meetings at the Olympic Museum were officials from the six cities bidding for the 2020 Summer Games — Baku, Azerbaijan; Doha, Qatar; Istanbul; Madrid; Rome; and Tokyo.
