FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A judge in Frederick is set to hear arguments on whether a man who suffered severe brain damage after a heart attack should continue getting sustenance through a feeding tube.

The hearing involving 55-year-old Daniel Sanger of Rohrersville is set for Wednesday morning in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Sanger’s mother and brother are seeking an injunction to keep the feeding tube in place at Frederick Memorial Hospital. It was restored last month under a temporary restraining order several days after Sanger’s wife had it removed.

They also are seeking guardianship so that they can direct Sanger’s medical care.

Sanger’s wife Leta has moved to dismiss the matter. Her lawyer says she alone has the authority to make medical decisions for her husband.
