Concert benefits ill local musician
Maple Tree: Mike Clark, a longtime local musician battling cancer, played a couple of tunes during a fundraiser in his honor.

Maple Tree — Family, friends and community members gathered around Mike Clark to show him love and support at a fundraiser on Oct. 16. Clark is a longtime local musician who is battling cancer. More than $1,000 was raised. In keeping with Clark’s love for music, the fundraiser was a concert with other musicians who, like Clark, have been performing around Vancouver for more than 30 years. Clark plays in the River City Band. Besides helping out Clark financially, the concert provided emotional support.
