LACEY, Wash. (AP) -- The Thurston County sheriff's office says an 83-year-old man was fatally shot and his 51-year-old wife was critically wounded early Wednesday in their Lacey, Wash., home. Lt. Greg Elwin says detectives believe the woman killed her husband, then shot herself in the head.
Investigators recovered a handgun but say there was no note.
The Olympian reports (http://bit.ly/uoLpwW ) that neighbors in the gated community of RVs and modular homes say the couple kept to themselves.
The woman was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in critical condition.
