GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Highly touted freshman Bradley Beal scored 20 points, one of six players in double figures, and No. 8 Florida beat Catholic University 114-57 in an exhibition game Thursday night.

Mike Rosario, a Rutgers transfer who sat out last season, added 18 points off the bench for the Gators. Kenny Boynton (21), Erik Murphy (17), Erving Walker (15) and Patric Young (10) also scored in double figures.

The Gators did most of their damage from 3-point range, showing they’re going to be a much better shooting team with Beal and Rosario in the mix. They made 20 of 40 from behind the arc.

Billy Donovan, son of Florida coach Billy Donovan, led the Cardinals with 13 points. His mother, Christine Donovan, wore a Catholic T-shirt while sitting behind Florida’s bench.

Former Florida star Joakim Noah was in attendance. He’s been working out in Gainesville during the NBA lockout.
