MOSCOW (AP) — Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic will play Maria Kirilenko of Russia in the opening singles match of the Fed Cup final on Saturday.
Two-time Grand Slam winner Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia will take on Lucie Safarova in the second singles match.
In Sunday’s reverse singles, Kvitova is set to play Kuznetsova before Kirilenko takes on Safarova.
In the doubles, Elena Vesnina, who replaced the injured Vera Zvonareva, will partner Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova against the Czech duo of Lucie Hradecka and Kveta Peschke.
Reverse singles and doubles nominations are subject to change before the matches.
Russia has won the Fed Cup title four times since 2003. The Czechs are five-time winners, but their last final appearance was in 1988 when Czechoslovakia beat the Soviet Union 2-1.
