LAKEWOOD, Wash. (AP) — Washington wildlife agents are tracking a bear through a Lakewood neighborhood.

Sgt. Ted Jackson says an officer shot the bear with a tranquilizer dart early Friday but it was able to run off. Agents are tracking it with a dog.

Jackson told KOMO-TV that children heading to school should take precautions because a bear with drugs in it is dangerous.

The bear has been sighted in the neighborhood for more than a week.
