4A volleyball: Skyview still alive at bi-district

The Skyview volleyball team won their its match at the 4A bi-district tournament, defeating Gig Harbor 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.

However, the Storm now faces must-win matches after losing to Kentwood in the quarterfinals 25-22, 25-19, 25-15.

Skyview will play Kent-Meridian, who knocked out Union, at noon Saturday.

Union eliminated — The Titans came up short in two five-game matches and were eliminated from the 4A bi-district tournament.

Curtis won the opening match over Union 25-14, 23-25, 20-25, 25-17, 17-15.

In its final match, Union took a 2-0 lead only to fall to Kent Meridian 16-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-14, 15-13.

Heritage loses — Auburn Riverside won the play-in game to the 4A bi-district bracket by defeating the Timberwolves. Scores were not reported.
