Couple killed in Lacey, Wash., shooting ID'd

LACEY, Wash. (AP) -- The Thurston County coroner has identified the couple involved in an apparent homicide-suicide at a home in Lacey, Wash.

Coroner Gary Warnock says 83-year-old Thomas Niles died early Wednesday of a single gunshot wound to the back of the head as he slept. The coroner said Friday that 51-year-old Peggy Niles was found in the home and died a day later of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities think the woman shot her husband in the bedroom of their home, then shot herself.

The couple lived at Washington Land Yacht Harbor, a gated community consisting of RVs and modular homes.
