La Center man released from hospital after Thursday crash on I-5

A 24-year-old La Center man was treated and released from the hospital overnight Thursday after the car he was in struck a semi-truck on Interstate 5 in Cowlitz County, officials said.
The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. near milepost 56 of I-5, north of Castle Rock. McKinzie Taylor, 26 of La Center was driving a 1995 Subaru in the left northbound lane when she lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected and ran into the rear trailer of a semi-truck driven by Ranjeet Khela, 40 of Vancouver, British Columbia, a Washington State Patrol bulletin said.
Taylor’s passenger Jeffrey Taylor, 24 of La Center was sent to St. John Medical Center in Longview with a facial laceration, the release said.
He was treated and released, a nursing supervisor said Friday morning.
According to the release, McKinzie Taylor and Khela were uninjured. The Subaru was totaled and the trailer sustained $3,000 damage.
