Beware the emotional hardliners

To the folks who put up those snappy sounding signs, “No Tolls, No Light Rail, No Taxes,” can you please tell me how to solve real-life issues such as bridge maintenance and congestion? Seriously.

I also want to respectfully point out that calling for “No Tolls” is calling for a form of socialism. I mean that not to inflame but to really try to have dialogue. Funding for things such as the police, fire department and public roads is all socialism in an accepted form. And I kind of like having cops around, myself.

Please, before you vote your gut emotions, beware of hardliners of any stripe who have simple answers. These are complicated times we live in.
