BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Matt Fitz rushed for two touchdowns as Lehigh controlled the clock and limited the Holy Cross offense in a 14-7 win on Saturday.
The Mountain Hawks (8-1, 4-0 Patriot League) rushed 43 times for 143 yards and held possession for 37:05 compared to 22:55 for Holy Cross. Zach Barket led the rushing attack for Lehigh with 102 yards. Chris Lum passed for 251 yards, despite throwing two interceptions and being sacked four times.
Mike Groome led the Lehigh defense with 13 tackles, a sack and an interception.
Lehigh, which has won seven games in a row, faces Georgetown at home on Saturday for the Patriot League title and an automatic bid to the Football Championship Subdivision tournament.
Ryan Taggart, who passed for 160 yards, hit Kyle Toulouse for a 5-yard touchdown in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead for Holy Cross (4-5, 2-2), which has lost two straight.
