Three-time Tour winner Contador marries in Spain

MADRID (AP) — Three-time Tour de France champion Alberto Contador has married his girlfriend of ten years.

The Spanish cyclist wed Macarena Pescador in his hometown of Pinto near the Spanish capital on Saturday.

Contador’s spokesman said the couple will spend their honeymoon in Rome.

On Nov. 21-24 the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, will hold a hearing into his alleged doping during his third Tour win in 2010.

Contador faces a two-year ban if CAS rules in favor of the World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Cycling Union, which have appealed the Spanish cycling federation’s decision to clear Contador of doping charges.
