Driver killed in tanker crash at Bellevue
Tuesday, November 8, 2011
BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) -- A driver from Port Orchard was killed when his tanker truck overturned on Interstate 405 at Bellevue.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Cliff Pratt told KOMO Radio the driver made a hard turn about 3 a.m. Wednesday and the truck overturned on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 90 to southbound I-405.
A small amount of harmless carbon dioxide -- the same gas as in soda bubbles -- leaked from the tanker.
Tow trucks with cranes righted the truck, and two I-405 lanes that were closed for the crash investigation reopened about 7 a.m.
