TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Terrance Owens threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns, and Toledo beat Western Michigan 66-63 Tuesday night, a week after the Rockets lost a shootout 63-60.

Western Michigan’s Alex Carder threw seven touchdown passes and ran for another one, but it wasn’t enough against the Rockets, who rushed for 419 yards.

Bernard Reedy caught a 42-yard touchdown pass with 4:04 left in the third quarter to put the Rockets (6-4, 5-1 Mid-American) up 49-35. The Broncos (5-5, 3-3) scored two touchdowns five minutes apart to tie it early in the fourth on Carder’s scoring run, but Toledo answered with two touchdowns.

The Rockets’ Morgan Williams and Adonis Thomas scored on the ground to make it 63-56 with 3:20 to go, and Jeremiah Detmer added a 39-yard field goal with 1:51 to play.
