CENTRAL POINT, Ore. (AP) -- A victim of a shooting last week in Southern Oregon says she and her fiance were apparently in the wrong place at the wrong time when a bullet crashed through the window of their vehicle.
The bullet hit 22-year-old Erik Dorey in the jaw, and he's undergone surgery. Jennifer Knutson tells the Medford Mail Tribune (http://bit.ly/tpVJfq) she thinks the bullet grazed the back of her head.
Police say the shot came from a car with four young men inside that later crashed, killing one. Another escaped, a third is being held as a material witness and a fourth has been accused of attempted aggravated murder and other charges.
Authorities say some of the men had gang ties but haven't spelled out a motive. They call the couple innocent bystanders.
