Two women were injured Tuesday afternoon when the car they were in was rear-ended by another car on state Highway 503 northbound at Milepost 10, just north of Battle Ground.

Phyllis M. Clark, 73, of Battle Ground and her passenger, Margaret Jenkins, 62, of Vancouver were taken by AMR ambulance paramedics to a hospital with possible spinal injuries, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

Clark was listed in good condition Tuesday night at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital, a spokesman said.

Jenkins’ conditions was not immediately available.

About 4:36 p.m . Tuesday, the car Clark drove slowed for traffic and a car driven by Kevin E. Haynes, 17, of Battle Ground hit it in the rear.

Haynes was not reported injured. He was ticketed for allegedly following too close, the bulletin said.
