Clark College wins marketing gold

Central Park — Clark College’s publicity efforts won a 2011 Spotlight Award from the Portland metro chapter of the Public Relations Society of America at an annual ceremony Oct. 27 at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. The college was honored in the event or observance category for its 2011 State of the College address. The award reflected on the contributions of college President Bob Knight; the communications and marketing department led by Barbara Kerr; special projects and activities manager Michelle Golder; stage manager Mark Owsley; and Clark-Vancouver Television. Also, on Oct. 17, Clark’s communications and marketing department received three awards at the District 7 conference of the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. Clark earned a gold medallion in the media success category for the 2011 State of the College address. The college received bronze medallions in the newsletter category and the promotional video category.
