KENT, Wash. (AP) — A man who killed his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter over a dirty diaper was sentenced Thursday in Kent to 20 years in prison.
A King County Superior Court judge sentenced 30-year-old Ron Wallace Jr. to the high end of the range. He pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder.
Wallace was alone at a Federal Way home with the girl and her 4-year-old brother in November of 2010 while their mother worked.
He told investigators he was frustrated with the girl for soiling her diaper. They say he struck her six or seven times with a belt and slapped and shook her.
