BOARDMAN, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say a driver fleeing an accident crashed a truck into a power pole along Interstate 84 near Boardman and died.
The East Oregonian reported (http://bit.ly/s9gx7B ) the accident Wednesday afternoon knocked out power to more than 3,000 members of Umatilla Electric Cooperative in parts of Boardman, Irrigon and the surrounding countryside. Power was restored later in the afternoon.
The driver was not immediately identified. Authorities say the truck hit a van in the rear near I-84 and rolled after it passed a semitrailer on the interstate.
