BEND, Ore. (AP) — The Bend husband who said he killed his wife in self-defense has been found guilty of murder.

The Bend Bulletin reports that (http://bit.ly/shacOv ) after six hours of deliberation, the jury found 47-year-old Steven Blaylock guilty on Thursday in the murder of Lori “Woody” Blaylock.

Steven Blaylock was arrested in November 2010 following his wife’s disappearance. He had initially told authorities that she walked away from the home and didn’t return. He later admitted to killing her and dumping her body in a river. The body was never found.

During the trial, Blaylock’s defense attorney argued that he chocked his wife only in self-defense after she attacked him in a drunken rage.

Prosecutors argued that Blaylock, a part-time plumber assistant, was after his wife’s money.
