FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress, kick returner Joe McKnight and safety Brodney Pool did not practice for the second straight day.

Coach Rex Ryan says Thursday he thinks Burress, who has a sore lower back, will be fine to play in the team’s game Sunday night against the New England Patriots. Burress said he anticipated practicing Friday and being ready to go.

McKnight, the NFL’s top kickoff returner, injured a toe last Sunday against Buffalo. Ryan says he’s “more of a wait and see.” Antonio Cromartie would return kickoffs if McKnight is unable to play.

Ryan adds that he’s “a little concerned” about Pool, who sustained a minor sprain in his left knee but was able to finish the game against the Bills.
