PHILADELPHIA (AP) — One week after containing the best returnman in the game, the Philadelphia Eagles will face the hottest one.
Last week, in their 30-24 loss to the Chicago Bears, the Eagles managed to keep Chicago’s Devin Hester, who has 17 returns for touchdowns, in check. He had one 12-yard punt return, which is 2.5 yards under his 14.5 average.
On Sunday, the Eagles (3-5) face the Arizona Cardinals (2-6) and rookie returnman Patrick Peterson, who already is putting up Hester-like numbers. In eight NFL games, Peterson has three punt returns for touchdowns including a 99-yarder in overtime last week as the Cardinals beat the St. Louis Rams, 19-13.
