RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Freshman R.J. Price scored Radford’s last seven points, including two 3-pointers and a free throw in the final 71 seconds, to give the Highlanders a thrilling 58-54 upset of Delaware Friday night in coach Mike Jones’ debut.

Delaware trailed for much of the night before taking a 53-51 lead on two Jamelle Hagins foul shots. Price then hit a 3-pointer with 1:11 left to regain the lead. After Delaware misfired, Price hit another 3-pointer with 22 seconds remaining and a free throw with seven seconds left to clinch it.

Price and Jareal Smith scored 13 points apiece, each making three 3-pointers. Radford was 8 for 27 from the arc, Delaware 2 for 14. The Blue Hens didn’t score a basket in the final 5:26.

Devon Saddler led Delaware with 18 points but hit just 5 of 22 shots. Jamelle Higgins had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Blue Hens.
