Letter: Get the money out of politics
Saturday, November 12, 2011
The Occupy Wall Street protesters — regardless of many right-wingers trying to discredit the movement, and comparing them to the GOP-funded Tea Party and Tea Party pushers Fox News — I feel are still a little off target. It is not so much Wall Street greed as the influence that big money has in controlling our elected officials.
Where there are billions of dollars, there will always be greed, but when those billions help influence the people we vote for, that is when it gets out of hand. The fox is watching the hen house. Get the money out of politics. Many members of Congress are millionaires. Give people a chance to run for office who really understand what the 99 percent are going through.
