Duquesne coasts to 84-66 victory over Green Bay

PITTSBURGH (AP) — B.J. Monteiro and Andre Marhold scored 17 points apiece as Duquesne coasted to an 84-66 victory over Green Bay on Sunday.

The Dukes (1-1) took a 30-14 lead with 5:47 left in the first half after a 12-1 run, and the Phoenix (1-1) never trailed by less than 10 points after that.

Duquesne, which lost to No. 16 Arizona 67-59 in its opener Wednesday, shot 46.2 percent (30 of 55), including 54.5 percent (18 of 33) in the second half, a far cry from last season, when it shot 88.2 percent (15 of 17) in the second half of an 81-71 win at Green Bay.

Sean Johnson contributed 14 points, T.J. McConnell had 12 points and seven assists and Eric Evans 10 points for Duquesne.

Jarvis Williams scored 17 points for Green Bay and Alec Brown had 14 points and 10 rebounds, his second double-double in two games.
