No. 22 UCLA beats Tennessee Tech 74-52 in WNIT

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rebekah Gardner had 21 points and 10 rebounds, both career highs, to lead No. 22 UCLA to a 74-52 victory over Tennessee Tech on Sunday in the second round of the Preseason WNIT.

Atonye Nyingifa added 16 points and 13 rebounds, her second straight double-double for the Bruins (2-0), who advanced to face No. 1 Baylor on the road in the semifinals Thursday.

Tacarra Hayes scored 13 points and Candace Parson added 10 for the Golden Eagles (1-1), who dropped into the consolation round later in the week. Kellie Cook, whose career-high 36 points helped them beat East Tennessee in the opening round, was held to nine points.

The Bruins put the game away in the first half when they led 43-20 at the break.
