CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan police have arrested two more suspects in the kidnapping of Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos.

National investigative police chief Humberto Ramirez says a Colombian man and a Venezuelan man were detained Sunday in a car with several others in the town of Moron. He says police seized revolvers from the men and are searching for other suspects.

The 24-year-old player was seized at gunpoint outside his family’s home last week and was rescued by police commandos two days later.

Ramirez announced the latest arrests on Monday in the central city of Valencia.

Venezuelan authorities have now arrested eight suspects, including six men accused of direct involvement and a couple accused of providing the abductors with food.
