SEATTLE (AP) — A Clark County woman drover herself to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, and her boyfriend was arrested after a three-hour standoff with police.

The Clark County Sheriff’s office says the woman managed to drive to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital Monday. She told the hospital that her boyfriend shot her with a .22 caliber revolver while she was asleep at their home. She is now at a Portland hospital in serious condition.

After the woman arrived at the hospital, police went to her home where they found 29-year-old Michael T. Boswell, who refused to leave the residence. The SWAT team was called in and after three hours he surrendered without incident.

Michael was arrested for one count of first-degree assault.

The woman’s name was not released.
