Scott scores 22 as CoC beats Morehead St 72-57

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Jordan Scott hit five of his seven 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead the College of Charleston to a 72-57 win over Morehead State on Tuesday.

The Cougars (2-0) opened the game on a 9-0 run, all on 3-pointers, and built a 22-point lead in the first half.

Morehead State (0-2) cut the lead to 10 at 9:15 of the second half after a 3-pointer from Marsell Holden, but the Cougars answered with five quick points and cruised after that.

Antwaine Wiggins added 17 points and Trent Wiedeman had seven points and 12 rebounds in the game, part of ESPN’s Tip-Off Marathon.

Morehead State was led by 13 points and six rebounds from Terrance Hill. The Eagles were outrebounded 37-29 and hit only 33 percent (18-of-54) of their shots while the Cougars shot 52 percent.
