SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service says a strong frontal system will blow across Washington Wednesday with gusty winds bringing rain to Western Washington, heavy snow to the Cascades and significant snow in Eastern Washington.

The snow will affect all mountain passes and accumulations of 1-to-2 feet are expected by Thursday morning. A winter storm warning is in effect.

Forecasters say the storm will bring significant snow to central and northeast Washington.

With cold temperatures Friday, spotty snow showers mixed with rain are possible in Western Washington while another round of snow hits Eastern Washington.
