Southeastern Louisiana routs Spring Hill 71-44

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Roosevelt Johnson and Brandon Fortenberry combined for 43 points to lead Southeastern Louisiana over Spring Hill 71-44 on Tuesday night.

Johnson scored 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking five shots.

Fortenberry, who scored 21, was 7 of 8 from the field, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Sixteen of his points came in the first half to propel the Lions (1-1) to a 39-18 lead at halftime.

The Lions scored 27 points off 15 Spring Hill turnovers, and outrebounded the Badgers 41-33. Southeastern Louisiana shot 50 percent for the game (26 of 52), and was 6 of 15 from 3-point range (40 percent).

The Lions pushed their lead to as many as 29, 53-24, on Fortenberry’s free throws with 14:45 to play.

Stephen Burches led the Badgers with 11 points. Alex Looney came off the bench to score 10 for the NAIA team.
