VMI routs NAIA Alice Lloyd 101-74

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — Keith Gabriel scored 22 points and Virginia Military Institute defeated Alice Lloyd 101-74 on Tuesday night.

Ten players scored for the Keydets, including Stan Okoye with 19. Jordan Weethee added 17 points, and fellow non-starter Nick Gore added 14 for VMI (2-1), which used 13 players.

The Keydets scored 43 points off 27 Eagles turnovers, while tallying 13 steals, including five by Quinton Upshur and four by Gabriel.

After the game was tied at 39 at halftime, VMI shot 51.1 percent from the field in the second half (23 of 45), while holding the Eagles to 34.2 percent shooting (13 of 38).

Alice Lloyd was 15 of 30 from the field in the second half, and outrebounded VMI 48-45 for the game.

The NAIA Eagles were led by Brent Hall with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Casey Dalton added 14 points.
